Day 26 of the 30 Days of Prayer – Here I am, Send Me!

Posted: Oct 23, 2020

Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”

Isaiah 6:6-8

Is the church a field of Lukewarm Dreams where we wander in the theological daisies, or a boot camp for training spiritual warriors and overcomers whose purpose is to join Jesus in His mission to set captives free and bind up the broken hearted? (Each boot camp has its own hospital to treat the wounded. It’s hard to go to battle if you’ve been shot up).

We see many Christians who’ve been living on the sidelines for years. Some spend their time maintaining and rewrapping their doctrine-package; they study God’s word often, but wouldn’t know the battlefield from the field of Lukewarm Dreams. Satan is quite happy to keep them studying and learning as long as they don’t get in the game and start making an impact.

Let me ask you:

How often do you attend prayer meetings, or at least pray with other believers? Does your church even have them? If it does, do you attend them? Are you willing to start a prayer meeting in your home if it doesn’t?

Do you “mourn with those who mourn and weep with those who weep”? Is your world so small in and outside of the church that your life rarely touches others?

Are you isolated? How often do you meet with others believers and share from a gut level how you’re doing – including confessing your sins? There are no lone warriors in God’s army.

How often do you experience spiritual warfare? Is your life enough of a threat to the gates of hell that you take enemy fire from time to time? Are you afraid to join the battle?

Have you gone Rogue yet, or are you still wallowing in status quo Christianity?

Note that my questions above provoke action. God’s word must be lived, not merely studied.

Today’s challenge is to go before God as Isaiah did, and cry out “Here I am, send me!”
