When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:13-14
Many of us know 2 Chronicles 7:14. We hear a lot about the need to pray and turn from sin, both which are critical. But in Day 1, we will focus on “Seek My face”. Many are undoubtedly praying, “God give us revival. Set us free from sin. Help our marriages, families and country. God, please you do this for us… would you bless us?”
All these are good and valid issues to pray for, but there is a difference between seeking God’s hand, what He can do for us, and seeking His face. Seeking His face is saying, “Lord, I want to know You. I want to sit in Your presence. I want to enjoy You. I want to be filled with your love. God, I love you. You are my greatest treasure. Lord, I seek your face—I want to know You! Please reveal Yourself to me; I’m going hard after you!”
Sparking our passion and hunger for the Lord through fervent prayer must come first.
If all we do is say, “God, give us revival.”, but we really don’t want Him, will those prayers get answered? I see a lot of apathy in Christians today; you can tell by the way they walk into church. People stroll in ten or fifteen minutes late; some are carrying coffee cups. You don’t get the sense that people believe they’re coming into the presence of the living, terrifying, amazing, holy God of love. The fear and awe of Him are missing from the church.
Our focus today is on seeking His face, which involves setting everything else aside—including asking him for revival, or any other need—and going hard after Him.
Remember to pray the morning, at noon, and at night.
Pray with others at least once a day.

It’s time to go Rogue, my friends. The way of the Rogue Christian begins with a passionate love relationship with the Lord. Without that, nothing else matters.
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.
