Jay-Z is an American rapper, a billionaire, and married to Beyonce. In his video Run this Town, Jay-Z is seen wearing a shirt with “Do what thou wilt” printed on it. “Do what thou wilt” is short for “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law,” coined by the British Satanist Aleister Crowley (1875-1947), whose nickname was the “wickedest man in the world.” Crowley was deeply involved in black magic.
Taylor Swift is also a billionaire entertainer. In her music video “Karma” (which is based on her song Karma, where she sings that “Karma is god”) Swift is seen wearing dark clothing and a devil-mask in an environment that resembles hell. Taylor blows a kiss to three people who represent the grim reaper as they are saluting with the middle finger. Taylor’s friend Ice Spice, an American rapper, is also in this video. Ice Spice was seen with Swift during the Super Bowl wearing dark clothing and a necklace with an upside down cross, a symbol associated with satanism.
In Taylor’s “Willow” music video, there is a scene unrelated to the lyrics that takes around a campfire. A group of persons wearing robes circle the campfire, giving the appearance of an occult ceremony.
Tom Brady is a seven time super bowl champion who played for 22 years in the NFL. From 2009-2022 Tom was married to Giselle Bundchen, a self-proclaimed witch. From CBS Sports:
“After the Patriots win over the Rams in Super Bowl LIII, Gisele let Brady know how lucky he was to marry a witch. Right after the game, she said, “See, I did a lot of work. You do your work. I do mine,'” Brady said. “She said, ‘You’re lucky you married a witch, I’m just a good witch.'”
The entertainment industry is propagating the message that the occult and witchcraft is harmless with increasing velocity—just an alternative spiritual experience. Look at the rich, the famous, the beautiful people. Don’t they look happy? Maybe you could be as happy as they are too, if you followed their examples in spiritual issues.
We Christians wouldn’t send out those messages… would we?
Not long ago I sat in a large church where the senior pastor, during his sermon, used Harry Potter as an allegory to compare Harry to Jesus as the “good son.” The underlying message was that Harry Potter was “a good witch.”
The following is a quote from Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in the film series The Chosen during a video interview:
“I’m wearing a mantle and a cross with a little crown on it a knight’s cross. Five years ago I was knighted by the order of the solemn military order of the temple of Jerusalem, essentially the Knights Templar, which is what that is.”
Roumie also said the following on his Instagram page in a 2020 post where he is pictured with Sean Feucht: “It was an epic inaugural event and on behalf of my fellow Templar brothers and sisters we are happy we are so grateful to be a part of it.” You can see the post here: https://www.instagram.com/jonathanroumieofficial/p/CE2ZLYtjfR_/?img_index=1
So what are the Knights Templar?
The following is a quote from the website of a masonic lodge, (also known as freemason), website:
“The Knights Templar and the 32nd Degree stand on the same step (level) and await to be called to the illustrious 33rd Degree, the highest step a Mason can achieve, but no more prestigious than the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason.”
The freemasons are a secretive, occult organization that has existed for centuries with a tiered hierarchy. The higher up the pyramid its adherents climb, the deeper into the occult they go.

The text in the red box on the top left reads “Order, Knights Templar” showing the Knights of Templar at the top. The star in the square orange box near the middle is what’s known as the Eastern Star—a five pointed star in the same configuration as a pentagram—a symbol of the church of Satan.
The trail gets darker.
In 1871, Albert Pike (1809-1891) published a book called Morals and Dogma on Freemasonry that can be purchased from Amazon today; the book has 1000+ reviews with an average rating of 4.4 stars. In the book, Pike, himself a Freemason, writes the following: “Lucifer the light bearer strange and mysterious name given to the spirit of darkness, Lucifer son of the morning, it is he who brings the light, he who brings the light, he who bears the light with its splendor intolerable blinds feeble, sensual and selfish souls. Doubt it not.”
Years later, Aleister Crowley would be a devotee to the Ordo Templi Orientis, an off shoot of the Knights Templar. The OTO mixed elements from different religions with Masonic and magic along with Crowley’s obsession with sexual depravity. Those who moved up the OTO’s chain had to perform sick, evil rituals that I won’t dignify here with a description.
In 1899, Aleister Crowley bought a manor known as the Boleskine house where he spent considerable time doing black magic rituals. Two of Crowley’s kids died during this time. In 1970, years after Crowley’s death, Jimmy Page of the rock band Led Zeppelin bought the Boleskine house, because, as Page said, “it would be a good spooky place to write songs.” Led Zeppelin wrote Crowley’s “Do as Thou Wilt” into some of their albums. Ozzy Osbourne, who went on a solo career after singing for the band Black Sabbath, wrote a song about Aleister Crowley.
And, Led Zeppelin shot a part of their movie The Song Remains the Same at Aleister Crowley’s Boleskine house.
This, my friends, is a part of the backstory of the Knights Templar that Jonathan Roumie has publicly said he belongs to. This is the guy the Christian community is fawning over and having speak in their churches, ministry, and media programs.
But we’re not done yet.
Jonathan Roumie played Lonnie Frisbee in the movie Jesus Revolution. The following is from an interview where he describes going to Frisbee’s grave to prepare for his role in the movie:
“Before I started work, I went over to Christ Cathedral. I sat by his grave and I prayed a rosary with him. I sat down and I prayed with him… a space just to his right was empty so I got to sit down… I even lied down because I thought it would be kind of interesting to try to connect in some way… that’s probably more information than you need or maybe want to publish but with that said you know it’s the truth. I finished praying with him and I said “Lonnie, I want to honor you with this film. Praying to the dead is called necromancy. Did you catch that Roumie asked Lonnie Frisbee to have God give Roumie a sign?? Since there’s nothing in Frisbee’s grave but the remains of a corpse, what kind of spirit do you think stepped into the void?
All of Roumie’s statements about the Knights Templar and necromancy are public, which means the directors and producers of the Chosen know about his occult background and yet they’re still having him play Jesus.
“For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.”
Matthew 24:24
So what is the message that Roumie and the creators of The Chosen are communicating? You can be a Christian and play with the occult and it’s okay. Holiness doesn’t matter, neither does sin. A little witchcraft doesn’t hurt anyone. The Chosen has reportedly been viewed half a billion times. That’s hundreds of thousands of hours in front a screen, with the guy who plays Jesus out front and center talking about his involvement in the occult. No wonder there’s so little scripture in their programs.
There are many who are taking these mixed messages to their logical conclusion.
They’re called Christian witches.
Think I’m crazy? You can buy a book called “How to be a Christian Witch; Includes initiation Instructions (Witch Starter Kit)” on Amazon. The book has 243 reviews with an average rating of 4.2 stars. Google “Christian Witch” and you’ll find pages of books, website, YouTube videos, and TikTok videos on how you can get plugged in.
Satan is stirring his messages into secular entertainment, the church, and the lives of Christians. That pastor who used the Harry Potter allegory? He also encouraged his flock to watch The Chosen one week to prepare for his next sermon. And he finished another sermon talking about a movie that involved a demon possessed man.
I know a Christian radio show that used a Led Zeppelin song to open their shows. I’ve seen worship leaders state their love for Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page. I’ve seen Christians extol their love for groups such as Black Sabbath and others in social media that have ties to the occult. Plenty of professing believers have watched the Harry Potter movies, which depict satanic rituals, and read the books. And plenty of believers are tuning into Taylor Swift’s music, videos, and concerts.
If that isn’t mixing witchcraft with what is supposed to be sacred, tell me what is.
“And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver.”

Why isn’t anyone calling this out?
We sophisticated, modern Christians love our Christian celebrities. Dare to knock them off their pedestal and the Institution of Christianity will turn on you. When Naghmeh Abedini exposed the physical and sexual abuse in her marriage with Saeed Abedini, the church’s celebrity of the moment, her speaking engagements got cancelled and the Institution, including many believers, attacked her. I interviewed Naghmeh on Blazing Grace Radio and suggest you listen to her story. For years, the Southern Baptists have been facing the backlash from telling those who were sexually abused at their churches to keep it quiet so they don’t give the Institution a bad name.
“Gasp, you can’t tell us the guy who plays Jesus is into the occult! Why, that’s almost like saying Jesus did that!” We’ve confused, or mixed up, who Jesus it with a Christian celebrity. One pastor said that when he prays he sees Jonathan Roumie in his mind. That’s not a vision I want when I’m approaching the throne of grace. Read Revelation 1, and you’ll see that Jesus is the Son of God with eyes like fire, feet like glowing bronze, pure white hair, blazing clothing and gold sash, and uncompromising holiness. How do you think He sees someone pretending to act like Him who’s into the occult, while the church applauds?
Can you picture the early church, that group of on-fire prayer warriors, many who lost everything for the cause of Christ, spending hours watching TV, Christian or not? How do you think, “Hey, John the Baptist, let’s binge watch The Chosen!” would have gone over? Or, “Paul, quit praying, the newest episode just came out!”
I will leave you with the following.
Satan is using the doorway of entertainment to expose many to the occult and witchcraft. How many hours do you spend taking in entertainment, Christian or not, in a week? Surveys show that the average American will spend more than 2,500 hours immersed in entertainment every year, not including time going to movie theaters or sporting events. How many hours do you spend in prayer in a week?
If a TV program or movie, such as The Chosen, speaks to you more than the Bible or your prayer life, something is seriously wrong.
20 years ago there were an estimated 8,000 witches in the US. Today there are more than 1.5 million, at a time when many churches are closing. That should be a screaming, flashing, red warning light that we’re not giving people a faith worth giving everything for.
These issues need to be spoken out clearly and boldly from the pulpit. There are many believers who are choked with entertainment and playing with the wrong side of it. On Blazing Grace Radio, Sarah Sumpolec, a former witch, shared how she gets mobbed by teens when she speaks at church youth groups who were unaware they were playing with occult media. You can listen to part 1 and part 2 of my interview with Sarah on our website. The following comment was posted on our page in response to Sarah’s story:
“I believe the demonic realm is very real and nothing in which one wants to dabble with. My paternal grandfather was a Freemason. Oh, the problems I had because of that. I contemplated suicide, hated myself, with anxiety and suffered with depression and nightmares. Thank you, Sarah for your testimony.”
In my research for this article I’ve noticed that occult groups tend toward several approaches:
* Mixing Christian terms and phrases with their propoganda. (We’re back to mixed messages again).
* Denial that the occult is harmful or evil, or that they’re involved in it.
* Stating that their practices are beneficial.
* Or, full blown, in your face disclosure that what they’re doing is all-out evil.
The dark days we live in demand discernment from every believer. Don’t assume that just because a Christian label is placed on something, or that a lot of people are applauding it that you should follow the crowd. Remember the narrow path:
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”
Matthew 7:13-14
The crowd spends hours watching TV. The few on the narrow path are those who invest considerable time in prayer and making their lives count for eternity.
Have you been to a prayer meeting lately?
Consider God’s standard for those He would have speak into our lives:
“My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,
that they may dwell with me;
the one whose walk is blameless
will minister to me.
No one who practices deceit
will dwell in my house;
no one who speaks falsely
will stand in my presence.”
Psalm 101:6-7
I don’t see “one whose walk as blameless” as someone who dabbles in the occult, regardless of whether they claim to be a Christian or what the masses are saying about them.
